Ranthambore Tiger Reserve National Park

Located in the sawai madhopurdistrict of indian state rajasthan, ranthambore tiger reserve is one of the largest and most renowned national parks in india. this national park is awfully rich in its variety of wildlife. ranthambore tiger reserve is also a major wildlife tourist attraction for wildlife photographers and for flora and fauna lovers. sweeping an area of about 392 sq km along with its neighboring sanctuaries, this is one of the largest tiger reserves of india. the nearby sanctuaries are kaila devi sanctuary and mansingh sanctuary. it is very famous for the Royal Bengal Tiger Royal Bengal Tiger, The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), in the past commonly called Royal tiger,is the most numerous tiger subspecies. By 2011, the total population was estimated at fewer than 2,500 individuals with a decreasing trend. None of the Tiger Conservation Landscapes within the Bengal tiger's range is considered large enough to support an effective population size of 250 adult individuals. Since 2010, it has been classified as endangered by the IUCN.As of 2010, Bengal tiger populations in India have been estimated at 1,706–1,909. As of 2014, they had reputedly increased to an estimated 2,226 individuals,but the method used in the census may not be accurate. Bengal tigers number around 440 in Bangladesh, 163–253 in Nepal, and 67–81 in Bhutan. Says Wikipedia that is found here.

Ranthambore national park inhabits variety of animals, repltiles and birds that include tigers, striped hynas, leopards, sambar deer, common or hanuman langurs, chital, macaques, jackals, black bucks, common palm civets or toddy cat, jungle cats, coomon yellow bats, caracals, sloth bears, indian flying foxes, rufoustailed hare, indian wild boar, chinkara, indian mole rats, desert cats, fivestriped palm squirels, indian false vampires[1], indian flying foxes, indian foxes, indian gerbilles[2], indian porcupines, longeared hedgehogs, common mongoose[3], ratels, small indian civets and small indian mongoose.

Ranthambore tiger reserve is also famous for bird varieties. the most important birds in ranthambore tiger reserve includes graylag goose, falcons,woodpeckers, mynas, indian gray hornbills, bulbul,common kingfishers, munias, bee eaters, wagtails, cuckoos, finches, parakeets, bayas, asian palm swift, pipits, owl, wood shrikes,nightjars, ioras, pigeon, flycatchers, dove, drongos, minivets, cuckoo-shrikes, crakes, orioles, snipes, crows, Sandpipers

Sandpipersh, Sandpipers are a large family, Scolopacidae, of waders or shorebirds. They include many species called sandpipers, as well as those called by names such as curlew and snipe. The majority of these species eat small invertebrates picked out of the mud or soil. Different lengths of bills enable different species to feed in the same habitat, particularly on the coast, without direct competition for food. the flora of this Ranthambore tiger reserve is of dry deciduous type and mainly consists of aam, babul, imli, dhak, banyan, jamun, dhok, khajur, khadam, neem, mohua, kakera and many more dense trees. the path of the safari is covered with trees on both sides making it a perfect habitat for the wildlife present here. this place remarkably is a paradise for a nature lover. many of the educational trips are also organized to this place for such explorations.

Ranthambore safari is a way to explore the quest within you for this tiger reserve. it takes you amidst this natural reserve in a jeep or canter depending upon the preferences where you get to see these animals indulged in their activities. it's adventurous but very exciting and worth exploration! there are two slots of timings that are available for the ranthambore safari, the morning slot from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and evening slot from 2:30 p.m to 6:00p.m. these timings change a bit in summers because of the longer days. the morning slot in summers in from 6am to 9am and evening slot is from 4pm to 7pm.
